Decon Team

Emergency response personnel and equipment are subjected to various degrees of chemical contamination as a result of exposures encountered in incidents. Response personnel can become contaminated in several ways, including exposure to vapors and gases, walking or driving through released liquids, powders, or contaminated soils, and contact with other contaminated personnel, victims, or equipment. The Decon Team ensures emergency decontamination of contaminated victims on the scene before exiting the scene.
